"Uggnnnhhh" Little groans from him stretching
Yes, that's normal, I think to myself. I turn to him and an immediately smile appears on both of our faces, "Good morning, love" his low voice, clearly tired, I smile "Good morning"
Mornings like that were completely normal for me-- until one day..

"LYLE, GET OVER HERE, PLEASE!" My voice is the only voice you can hear in the woods, I run and run, my legs feel so sore but I continue, I stop for a second and hear a gunshot in the distance, BANG, I run faster, moving my feet like it was the last thing I was gonna do.
I run past the woods like it was a thing I've done my whole life, growing up in the woods were normal for me anyway-- My leg gets caught on rabbit snare, I trip over immediately, obviously injuring my arm, the pain, but.. Lyle is still out there, I ignore the pain and break off the rabbit snare and get back up, running where I heard the gunshot.
"LYLE!" I scream happily while running towards him-- BANG BANG--

Excerpt:
"Miss.." I heard from behind me. I turned around to see what he wanted. From the corner of my eye I saw his fist coming towards my face. I had no time to duck and was hit full force. Pain exploded behind my eyes and my vision went blurry. I started falling, but he caught me right before I hit the ground and picked me up. "I didn't want to hurt you." I heard him whisper right before I passed out.
