"Who are you?" Anna Amberlee said as a cloaked figure walked through the ajar front door. It was a rainy evening, the kind that if you were walking down the street you would walk just that bit faster and hold your jacket just that bit closer. Anna and her father had just finished a nice hot soup for dinner and were talking animatedly in the living room when the figure walked in.
All that Anna could tell from the figure was that he was tall, very much so. He was the kind of man that towered over people, intimidating them just by his height. The figure didn't answer and walked into the centre of the room, angling his body towards Anna. He pulled down his cloak. The man was undeniably beautiful. He had golden locks that adorned his head and lightly tanned, smooth, flawless skin. And his eyes....his eyes were simply captivating. So blue. So piercing. So deadly.

Sir Eric takes a deep breath and mutters as his demeanor radiates confidence. He knew that what he was about to say would change everything. He took a sip of the wine presented to him and continued, "As agreed several years ago, your daughter will be sent to my son's mansion in a week for the marriage alliance between our families. But here's the catch - I want the wedding to be held in just a few days!" The room fell silent as everyone absorbed Sir Eric's words. As they were both taken aback, but Sir Eric stood up nonchalantly, as though he hadn't just made a shocking announcement. His guard gave them a slight nod before departing with him, leaving them to grapple with the weight of his words. After his departure Thomas' wife glares at her husband, putting her hands on her waist on her hips in a disapproving manner, and speaks "It is with great concern that I express my disapproval of my daughter marrying him, Thomas. While it may seem natural for them to pair her up with their first son, Alex, might I remind you that my daughter's happiness comes first? If they wish to consider a union, I would be willing to entertain the idea if it were their legitimate child Andrew from the woman he married. However, it cannot be Alex, a child born to a waitress." Thomas shakes his head in disbelief, raising his hands in surrender. He states, "Lisa, I'm disappointed in you. It's not right to judge people based on their background. Their circumstances do not define their worth as human beings. Moreover, it's not your place to question how they ended up where they are now. You knew this day would come, didn't you?" She dismissively shrugs, like it's nothing, still insisting "I really won't let my daughter marry a bastard son Thomas" Turning towards a silhouette behind her, she smiles in triumph while suggesting, "Let your late brother's child marry him instead. Maya is still a part of our family," she declares with a triumphant smile.
