How in the world did I get here?
Why is my first crush, and first enemy, standing at my locker talking to me?
Why does it feel like the walls I have built up are coming tumbling down?
Well, maybe I should explain. My name is Raegan Diaz, and my story started not so long ago, well the interesting part didn't start that long ago that is. Way back in the 8th grade, well it kind of started earlier than that but how much farther should I really go. My bus ride to the Middle School had never been a fun one, the one friend I had on my bus always got driven to school so I was always alone. I sat towards the front of the bus, always, it was like a security thing for me, but on one warm, sunny day in September all that changed.
On my bus had always been this group of kids that sat in the last 6 seats and it was all kids that were a year older than me, except one kid that I was by no means friends with. It was an exclusive group and I never wanted in, it didn't seem like anything fun. But my school, like many others in Santa Monica, California, ended the middle, or junior high, school at the 8th grade, so all of those older kids were no longer on the bus. Now naturally there was the new group of 6th graders coming onto the bus this year, but it was generalized that the older kids sat in the back so they didn't dare go back there.
That first morning I made the, what I would've then considered, daring decision to sit in the seat that had been claimed as Tristan Parker's since the first day of the 6th grade. I guess that's where it all started.

"Listen here, I don't want to manhandle you, so do as I fucking say. Move." He growls as he pushes me into the crowd of celebrating people. I do what he says and start walking towards the exit, but I look over my shoulder one last time before I'm too far in the crowd to see anything. When she starts her new school, Cliffside High, everyone despises her. They don't like the same music she does and they don't dress like her. She's an outcast in their book. But when she gets home, she goes to her favorite website and chats with people who love her. Who don't despise her. But, everything changes when a stranger starts to chat with her. He compliments her, makes her feel bubbly. She feels like he loves her, and she loves him. Then things get a little weird when he asks her personal questions. Not thinking twice, she answers all of them. Cathy feels guilty afterward, and never wants to talk to him again. But he wants to meet her. The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" He shakes his head immediately, frowning. "What, why not? You remind me of my old teddy bear. He was a good listener and he didn't talk much..... just like you." I say softly, tilting my head. He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" He sighs, the first sound I have ever heard him make. "No." . . . *Jordan* Teddy!? Seriously!? She gave me a fucking NICKNAME!? What the hell does this girl want!?
