In a world of 2451, there came an invention that nearly wiped out the entire human species. The invention is known as the Uber-9, a bioweapon that turns anyone afflicted from it into the undead. Whether you were going to end up as a vampire or as a zombie, your chance of acquiring this virus was ranged from 90% or higher. That is, not for Mira Weiss. Mira was just your typical teenage girl who had just recently found out that she has a few powers: 1) She is immune to it, and she is naturally to anything 2) She has genetic abilities that make her agility supernatural 3) She has telepathic abilities of various kinds. Now an agency known as ARGON recruits her to be the human species last hope to fend off these creatures.

We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I'm not sure how it started exactly; that's classified information. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. My father was one of those really smart people. I was only five at the time, but I knew what was happening." Within the walls of the compound, Jay makes stupid mistakes, mistakes even she doesn't understand, putting everyone inside at risk. All because she can't shoot someone. All because she misses the wind in her hair, the flowers on the hillsides, the sound of crickets at night. All because she's different, the only person untouchable by the Virus. In a world ravaged by a virus and plagued by conflict, a girl named Pandora Meyer recovers from the virus that took her memories and lives with her father, Abraham, in an isolated cottage hidden by the thick forests of the northern peninsula of Michigan. The southern peninsula was taken over by a cult hellbent on either growing their numbers or wiping out sinners, and they want to expand northward. As she helps the northerners fight off the violent cult, she must figure out who she is and how to survive in a harsh, unforgiving world where one slip up will kill you. However, she soon begins to wonder who the real enemy is. They say the Pandora of ancient myth opened her box and doomed humanity, but can this Pandora save it? P.S. Pass, and you stay within the compound. Fail, and you are sent to another compound. Yet, what happens when Quinn faces the threat of Compound 5, a short blonde girl whose name he can't pronounce, and begins to question everything he's ever been taught, pushing the limits of the system and his own comfort zone?
