Writing prompts with my responses. As I get ready for NaNoWriMo I've been trying to flesh out a few ideas and see where I want to go. These are all just experiments to flesh out the history of some characters I have in mind. I would love to see what you think about my work. If you feel inspired by a prompt let me know! There will be all kinds of little shorts, but the characters will be recurring. So you'll get to know each of them, in their very different worlds, over time. All writing is in the supernatural category, but other sub-genres vary wildly. 30 Days, 30 Stories: A Writing Challenge von stvnlra

This is a 30 day writing challenge, a collection of short stories. I've always been a world class procrastinator. The goal of this challenge is to get me writing regularly and, hopefully, break me of the perfectionist thinking that often paralyses me. The Rules: 1. Write and publish 1 short story (flash fic, vignette) per day for 30 days. 2. Stories must be at least 100 words. 3. They can be of any genre or subject matter. Like a lot of writers I have notebooks lying around full of random story ideas. Most of my older ideas are for novels and screenplays. Been going thru my old ideas and picking out the ones I think lend themselves to the short story format. I'm also working on coming up with NEW ideas that I can use here. Never been good at using prompts, but this is a good opportunity to experiment with those. All the stories here are original works written specifically for this challenge. They were written on the day they were published unless otherwise stated. Any similarities to other writers' work is purely coincidental. Thanks & enjoy! ~Laura, 20 Feb, 2018

Hi everyone! so, I'm not dead that's for sure, but I come here with a new set of stories just waiting to be uploaded! in total I have 28 mini stories, some will be uploaded and some won't, I'll have to consider it. but anyway. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and I'll be uploading some of the works I've been cooking up this year. but bear with me here, if you don't like any of these then please just scroll or click away instead of leaving a bad comment. SmackDown: Back to Our Roots von LayethTheSmackDown

Our previous two SmackDowns were both massive successes, and it's high time for another. You might remember the last one was heavy on the "game" elements, maybe even too heavy. This time we're going back to the basics and keeping it simple. It's just a motherfuckin' sci-fi SmackDown: a heated writing contest where contestants are given text-, music- and visual-based prompts, and then they need to write a short story around that, following which they're judged for their efforts and either move on to the next round or they get eliminated from the competition. But there's gotta be some kind of twist, right? For this one we're waxing nostalgic, we're looking back into our past. We're going back to our roots.

Or would you leave it? A youth who calls themself Don, has found themselve in this situation. After finding a strange book and meeting someone calling himself Don's 'imaginary friend', our protagonist's life of constant survival has been turned upside down. Content warning: This story contains body horror, psychological horror, depressing theme's and gore. Also spiders play a part in this story. Reader discretion is advised. Updates on fridays

A few seasons ago, I participated in NaNoWriMo with the goal of writing a story a day for the entire month of November. I was able to do this and ended up with well over 50,000 words for the month. This book ended up with around 43K words, but it is missing a few stories. I didn't want to put anything that goes with "Pearls of the Mother" in the "Illogies." Each day I sat down to write, I had a different mood or something else I was thinking about, and I let that guide my writing process. I think a couple of these may end up with follow-on stories or maybe even books of their own. I hope you enjoy these; I know I do.
