Copper is acceptable; Gold is even better.
And Silver - well, we don't talk about them.

This story begins in the Silver community, a slum-like area below the Inner Ring of Cities. People with white skin, white eyes, and silver hair wander the streets looking for any sort of work or food, all the while finding none. These are the Silvers, a people who are born as a blank canvas, a people whose appearance gains color as they nurture their magical abilities. But, they can't.
Because magic is considered evil.
The nobles in the High City have banished all magic and anything related to it, including the Silvers. Coppers work in the factories and on farms earning decent money making and growing products for the Golds, nobility and the Royal family. All is peaceful there. Well, it used to be, until the Silvers decided to revolt.
They were crushed, massacred, and none survived.
All except one.

"What if it's inside me?"
"Then you are evil too."
"Oh."

Nova knows she's being used. At the age of nine, when her mother and father were murdered, she was whisked away to a place called the Chamber, a series of tunnels and caves that snake through the Great Mountain. Since then, she had lived there, waiting for the time when she'd be old enough to begin her magical studies.
Unfortunately, even here, she's an outcast. Born as a Silver, and being the last one alive of her kind, attending a prestigious school meant to secretly train the Coppers' children in magical arts, its obvious that she isn't wanted. But as a Silver, she also has the advantage of being able to retain more powerful magic and learn quicker than any other. That's why she's being used.
A weapon for the Revolution against the Golds' tyranny.
