As life goes on, growing up and coming to understand oneself is a complicated task. But for Jack Daley, coming to know himself only became more complicated as time went on. A rocky past, coupled with an inexplicable crush on his brother's friend, complicated life far more than necessary. Jack was not ready to come to terms with his crush on Jonathan Kavinsky, and Jonathan did not make things any easier.

Jonathan had been around for what felt like forever. He and Casper, Jack's older brother, had been tied to the hip since middle school, but their relationship felt strained ever since the death of Jonathan's father. Dealing with death and an absent mother had changed Jonathan for the worse. A kid who was once sweet and bubbly had come to turn into a cold and cruel young man.

Jonathan was mean, but Jack could not help the pull that he still felt for the other boy. No matter how much he tried to hide it, feelings that had always been there would always seem to resurface. He knew that he was in for the long haul, as Jonathan was emotionally inept and incapable of human decency.

Jonathan Kavinsky felt like a dream to him, and Jack was not prepared to wake up.
