But she had already jumped. It was a mighty leap, her eyes scared and front legs stretched out as far as possible. She was having so much fun, she hadn't even realized how distant the tree was. Her claw slightly scraped at the next branch, which gave Birchwhisker hope, but she lost her grip on it. Down, down, down, Petalwhisker shrieked in surprise and tried to turn over to land on all four. Birchwhisker darted forward to try and catch her, but it was too late.
