Erica's life is already messed up to began with. Why does she have to do through so much more?

Erica lives in a time where RunAways roam the Earth, a once human monster hungry for human flesh.

Erica always dreamed of the day she would be able to follow the river outside of the village boundries, over the fences, till it ended -- if it ever did. But it was a dream for the dead, because she knew she would never come back alive.

With that lingering dream in my mind, Erica's life slowly falls apart. Her inncoent mother doesnt seem so innocent anymore. She loses her best friend to the government. The Council Men are after Erica, wanting to drive her out. And her river has been tainted.

Where will she turn to?

The fences don't seem too high now.
