In this sequel to When He Awoke, Newt faces new challenges after being greeted by a group of survivors; people who managed to survive the Flare. But not is as well as it seems; they soon find out that one of the people in this new group has been bitten by a Crank. After bitten, the person was given a treatment that WICKED was testing out, and she has no suffered any of the side-effects of the Flare.
Now seeing that maybe WICKED did find the cure, follow Newt and the rest of the Gladers as they go through cities, injecting Cranks with the cure and seeing them turn back to people. You'll get to see the story through Newt's, Minho's, and Thomas' eyes in this continued story of survival.
