Alexis, a freshly turned New Born. Her first kill allows the change to occur and she becomes a Vampyr, a daughter of the Night. An immediate invitation is ensued, allowing her to attend prestigious Proteifall Academy, a school for people who are just like her. Different. It is home to turned humans who have abilities far beyond what is deemed natural. In their world, this is not uncommon. In fact, it is sought after. But Alexis finds other attributes in the school that changes the course of her life, and not in the way that she has ever wanted. It seems that her arrival sparks the interest of more than a few students. With myths of the rising Five beginning to spread fast, uptight but legendary students with powers hard to match and beat, and teachers who are adamant to turn the Changed into the ever-famous and desired protectors, Alexis is unwillingly sucked into their chaotic and extraordinary world. But there's more to her than everybody first anticipated, and without anybody's knowledge, it's Alexis who plays a leading role on what's really to come. Beyond their world, something unearthly and dark is dawning closer, and time is beginning to run out.
