Jenevieve Violet, the smart, independent freshman who lives in Dillon Texas is not the girl she seems to be. Living by herself, with no legal guardians but a pet dog named Beans, makes a stereotype for her. Jenny gets top grades in her class and is captain of the volleyball team, but gets avoided in the hallways due to her appearance of mostly black clothing and usual smell of stale whiskey. Due to her love of volleyball she never really liked the well-known and loved football team, the Panthers, that are worshipped by the town. People avoid conversation with her because of their fear of her subtle attitude, but her best friend Tyra just sees her as being a little feisty. Jenny never imagined falling for a football player, until star running back, Tim Riggins, is intrigued by her and starts to fall for her.
