A matching pair of Chuck Taylor Converse stood about a meter apart as chocolate rose up to meet steel. 
Her head tilted to the side as her hand rested in the middle of the page. They continued staring into the other's eyes until someone opened their mouth. 
"Hi uh, did you need something?" She slowly closed her book as curiosity glinted in her eyes. The boy suddenly found himself frozen with nerves, something he rarely ever experienced. Taking in a freezing breath, he suddenly found his sneakers quite interesting while quickly throwing out a cool line. 
"So," he started, "What's a cute girl like you doing reading out here in the cold?"
