Liam took off his necklace and put it around my neck.
"But Liam, this mean so much to you," I started.
"Something to remember me by," He smiled. I was really going to miss his smile. And his pancakes, and his kisses and the feeling i get when im around him. The way he wakes me up with kisses across my cheek. Who am I kidding? I will miss everything about him.
"I'll wait for you," I whispered in his ear.
"Just promise me something," He said as he pulled me closer to his chest.
"Yes?"
"Promise me that no matter what happens, you will never lose that beauitiful smile, that twinkle in your eye." He said as a tear rolled down his cheek.
I put my hand on his cheek,"Liam your not going to die," I said. He was silent.
"Liam im not losing you!" I panicked.
"I cant promise you anything. But i will assure you that everyday im out there, i will fight for you. Every day, every moment of the day will be for you. And when i come home, we can continue with our life the way it should be, start a family," He smiled and brought my hand to his lips,"You feel my heart?" He placed my hand over his chest. His heart was beating wildly,"You feel that? Everytime im around you it beats like that. And that best part, it only beats for you."
I was silent.
"Ava?"
"Yes Liam?" I said.
"I love you," He looked at me with soft chocolate brown eyes. It made my heart melt.
I collapsed into tears on his chest,"I love you too Liam."
"Dont cry now love,"
"Liam," I looked at him with a serious expression,"If you die, i dont know how i will be able to contiue life without you.. and i wont."
I could see the shock in Liam's eyes as he started to say something, but i cut him off,"It only beats for you."
He pulled me under the crook of his arm and muttered something into my ear.
"I just wish i could keep you safe."
I cupped her face in my hands, rubbing my thumbs in circles over her cheeks. She was having trouble finding words to describe what she felt, and I could relate. I loved her more than words could describe and telling her I loved her was almost an insult to my true feelings for her. My heart ached at just the thought of her not being with me. I honestly don't know what I would have done with myself if I had never went to that stupid party and met her. But, I have a feeling, we would have found each other, eventually. This love's too strong to ignore forever. Both of us had pieces of us missing, that neither of us were aware of until we met. We were like two puzzle pieces that finally connected.
"I love you," I whispered, leaning my forehead against hers.
"I love you more," she replied in a small whisper, her hand reaching up to caress my cheek while the other rested on my thigh.
I shook my head, annoyed and charmed by the audacity she had to think that she could possibly love me more. "I love you most," I persisted, causing her head to moved away from mine as she looked into my eyes.
"Always?" She questioned, her eyes unreadable for a moment before a flash of fear passed through.
"Forever," I assured her and meaning it.
We could live an entire lifetime or for eternity, and my love for her would never fade. It would only grow. There was nothing in this world that would ever change the way I loved her. My, Katarina.
