James Buckminster Buchanan was born to Horus and Mary Buchanan on the 14th of February in 2030, at the age of 5 James was liberated from the "abusive and violent" environment of the Buchanan home and sent to an orphanage for adoption were his mind was wiped. From there he became a Barnes, and at the age of 10 James met Steve, who would become his best friend and later companion in the war, at the age of 18 James Buchanan Barnes became a sergeant in the U.S. Army where he was listed as KIA protecting his brothers in arms. He then became the Winter Soldier. Everyone thinks that that is the end of his story, but what they don't know is that he was rescued by an Uranian doctor by the name of Julie Diegert.
