After her grandfather buys an old, ramshackle house in the middle of the Wisconsin wilderness, Isabella Deublaine flies over to spend the summer of her senior year helping him fix it up. But she soon learns that the house dark, untold history. She discovers it was the same house her grandfather grew up in, and where his sister disappeared from almost fifty years ago. But then one day, she is drawn deep into the woods and discovers a chair that takes her to another world. Here, Isabella discovers she has magic- magic that is being hunted by the king. Armed with nothing but this new-found power, Isabella is in desperate search for a way home, a journey that will prove more dangerous than anything she had ever encountered before. And she had better hurry. Because if she is discovered, the king will not hesitate to have her killed.

Nadia Rose Quinn had a sketchy child hood. It all began at the age of five when her parents split up. Then at the age of seven her mam passed away from livers disease after being an alcoholic for two years. Then she was passed through a number of different orphanages till she was ten. He gramps took her in after that and she has lived with her ever since on their farm in the English country side. So when her grandma Sheila passes away Nadia is beside her self, if she though her life was bad then it's worse now. Not old enough to take care of her self at the age of fifteen she is told she can either go back to Italy and live with a man she can hardly remember or be put back in to the adoption system. Not wanting to go back in her life she chooses to travel to Italy to live with her farther. At first she hates it. One day when she decides to go exploring on her farther's speed boat she gets stuck on a island call Borealis, it is here that her life will be changed for ever.
