Who Would've Thought isn't your every day "boy meets girl and they fall in love, the end" love story. Maeve Hill is a junior in high school. She has a challenging life and problems just like the rest of us. With difficulties in her home life and trouble at school. Regardless of her beauty and intelligence, that she has a hard time believing she has, she doesn't have many friends. In fact, she only has one. Her best friend, Freya. Matthew Espinosa is definitely your average, dare I say stereotypical, high school guy. He keeps a close circle - everyone knows and adores him. Girls want to be with him and the guys wanna be his friend. He loves it. He doesn't want that power to slip through his fingers. One word to describe him would definitely be an asshole. Maeve would agree. Matthew hasn't always "hated" Maeve, but going into high school things changed. High school is very different from elementary and middle school. At least in their small town anyway. Matthew wanted to keep his popularity and relevance in high school, so that's when the switch flipped for the both of them. But could there be a knight in shining armor for her? Maeve meets Shawn Mendes and he becomes a bright light in her life as their friendship develops. Shawn would be good for her. *Rejected at First Sight* Spin-off series (By GirlWhoChasesRainbow) 🌶 "Oomph!" The sound rushed out of my mouth as the door opened before I could reach the handle and my body hits a wall. I stumble backwards slightly before a hand wraps around my waist, keeping me from falling. Looking up, I realize this wasn't a wall, but instead a very attractive male. A very messy, but definitely sexy, mop of black hair sat on top of his head. When I looked closer, I realized that it was a deep shade of brown that was probably often mistaken for black. My gaze traveled to his eyes, where I found two deep ocean blue eyes looking at me. I kept going further down to his too crooked nose to be called straight, which I assumed came from too many fights. His skin was tanned, but an olive tone suggested he had a natural darker complexion to begin with. My eyes finally found his pink, very plump lips which were resting slightly open. His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that? Was it some sort of local lingo? How did I get rejected on my first day? The first person I make eye contact with at this school rejects me. I guess that's how this school works, if the hottest boy in school rejects you, you're a nobody. If that's how this small town school worked, then I was screwed.
