14-year old Athena is a senior at Valley high school, a child genius they say. But it happened because of one day that changed her life forever. She has no real family (except her cruel Aunt, and her boyfriend ), no friends, but one. Josiah. Her lifelong friend, who happens to be four years older, but also a senior. He helped her through sadness, he brings her happiness, but one day he asks her for one favor he hopes Athena could return a secret he didn't tell her before. Athena doesn't know what to do, but to follow her heart.
