(Spin-off/Prequel to the story 'The Good Parents)
After a successful mission, a group of soldiers wait for extraction behind enemy lines. A chinook helicopter arrives, evacuating them out of the war zone. However, as it took flight, a missile was fired by the enemy. Just when the soldiers thought that they were about to die, the pilot tilts the helicopter, dodging the missile, preventing it from being shot down.
Intrigued and impressed with the pilot's skill, the officer Alexander Westwood makes an effort to meet the pilot, to compliment and thank him for his good work. On landing, he is shocked to discover that the pilot was a none other than a woman. He soon finds himself intrigued and fascinated by the quick-witted yet timid pilot, who tries to avoid his advances at all cost.
To Flight Lieutenant Matilda Annie Millard, the sky was all she knew and considered it as a home. Her philosophy in life was simple- blend in, be humble, be competent, be professional, earn respect and above all, never catch a man's attention, nor want, beg, give and return affections. Somewhere along the way, Annie lost herself and her femininity, now buried under so many defensive layers, that she can't reach it anymore.
When she meets the strong, self-assured, medical officer Alexander Westwood, she avoids him at all costs, as she slowly finds her defences crumbling down, as he pursues her earnestly. All Rights Reserved
