Alex wakes up in an unknown environment, with no memory of his name, friends, or family. He makes acquaintance with the other Gladers and soon makes friends out of some of them. After a mysterious attack by one of Gladers, Alex is uncertain of their safety in the Glade. He rounds up a few of his friends to help him find a way out. The maze outside the Glade is a dangerous place, full of dangerous creatures. Will they overcome the obstacles awaiting them in the maze, or are they doomed to live the rest of their lives in the Glade, trapped?
