This is the story of a silver wolf, by chance born near the home of a lonely girl and capturing her imagination with such intensity that she could think and dream of nothing but always being near the silver ghost.
But to the native people of whom she belonged, the wolves were nothing but sport, wild, vicious, untameable animals fit only to be hunted, or placed in the fighting ring, and the young girl has to endure seeing her beloved pup grow up into a savage outlaw and finally, a killer.
