You've all seen that story before: pretty, perfect Miss Mary Sue transfers from her mysterious magic school in America to Hogwarts. Well, this story's a little bit different, and Mary Sue isn't quite at wonderful as she seems...
In 1994, 14 year old Nicole McGinnis is forced to say a glum goodbye to her old school, her hometown, and the best friend she's pathetically in love with, and say hello to London, England and eventually Hogwarts School. Her mother, the new American ambassador to the British Ministry of Magic, has made the tough decision to take the job and bring her three children along with her. Of course, this would not be so bad for Nicole, were it not for her smart, beautiful, popular, and utterly evil older sister Marie being forced to move with them, having been recently expelled from the most prestigious, all-girls boarding school in the country.
Now the sisters are once again attending school together, and Nicole is not only faced with the challenge of trying to make new friends, not fail classes, and forget the "love of her life", as well as avoid the girl who made her childhood a living hell. And all of this against the backdrop of the Triwizard Tournament, a dangerous magical competition not held in over a century. And when the famous Harry Potter himself is mysteriously chosen as a fourth competitor, things really start to get interesting, and fast. But there is something dark looming on the horizon, something beyond anything naive newcomer Nicole could have possibly imagined...
