"Oh Lily, you really are amazing, you know that?" Lily sighed, same old James he was probably going to ask her out again in 3... 2... 1.... and... Nothing. Huh, she thought to herself, maybe he really has changed. James looked back at Lily and grinned, she quickly looked away and his face fell. I need to get her out of my head, he thought, she doesn't like me anymore, end of. No point in going after a girl who hates you anymore, who knows how much time we all have left. The door opened, and they both looked up. Prefects started filling the room, ready to start the new school year. Lily smiled professionally and James mimicked her, greeting and congratulating the other students. Before Lily started to speak, she took a last glance at James. He smiled slightly, his small dimples made him look so innocent and adorable. She breathed in and looked down at the paper in front of her, one thought protruding out from the rest, I will not fall in love with James Potter. --- In their final year at Hogwarts, Voldemort is on the rise, luckily though, Hogwarts is still safe... mostly. James and Lily are finally civil but Lily finds herself feeling something more that she can't keep denying. Remus is drowning himself in school work, blaming the upcoming NEWTs, but Sirius isn't convinced, could there be another reason for his constant avoidance? Meanwhile, a new arrival in school has easily made friends with all her fellow Gryffindors... except Marlene: determined to befriend the newbie, Marlene insists on spending more and more time with her. There could be more to all these friendships, but with the stress of NEWTS and a potential war on the horizon, will love blossom, or is it too dangerous to keep loved ones close? Mainly Jily, but wolfstar and Marlene x fem!oc slowburn fluff as secondary love plot lines :)

"I have a more personal question," she ignored his arrogance. Watching him had sparked a new interest that seemed to overpower any interest she had in their previous conversation. "Oh?" he seemed surprised but didn't allow it to affect his composure. "Go ahead then." "Why me?" "I beg your pardon?" Sirius seemed confused. Marlene felt embarrassed asking it but it wouldn't be the first time it had danced around in her head. Sirius was the type of guy that could have any girl he wanted. He was smart, funny, immeasurably handsome, and he bloody well knew it. Though he was bit egotistical at times, his hot headedness had seemed to settle down immensely from the boy she had known from fifth and sixth year. "Of all the girls you could have picked from, you chose me. I want to know why." Sirius was looking at her funny - it was not quite the reaction she had been expecting. "Of all the girls I could have picked from. What exactly is that supposed to mean? Isn't it obvious?" * It's Marlene's seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and she has graduated from blundering student to emotional train wreck. She knew that seventh year was going to be challenging, but she never imagined that N.E.W.T.s would be the least of her worries. The pressure of suppressing her emotions begins to take its toll, and it's only a matter of time before she breaks. She knows that she must tell Sirius how she truly feels if they ever stand a chance. As she struggles to win Sirius back, dark forces continue to loom over Hogwarts. Suddenly, Marlene finds herself immersed in something unexpected; threatening everything she knows and loves. Relationships blossom, alliances are formed, and adventures continue as Marlene and her friends enjoy their last moments before the war. They must rely on one another to fight the darkness, and together she and Sirius may just have a fighting chance after all. Highest Rank: #1 Blackinnon 03.13.21

THE MARAUDERS: Rising Moon

11 parts Ongoing

Remus Lupin held a terrible secret. One that, if slipped, would most certainly destroy his life for good. He'd end up in Azkaban- or worse. Which made him apprehensive to accept friendships. It wasn't fair not to be truthful with his friends. Despite his more reserved behaviour, the three boys he shares a dorm with refuse to let him isolate himself. Read on as Remus does his best to fit in, gain friendships (and perhaps something more?) and get top marks. Delve into Sirius's free spirit and troubled childhood, James's struggles despite his privileged position in life, and meet Peter, who just wants happiness and to be like the rest of his dorm mates. The story of everyone's favourite Marauders - as seen by me. Remus-centered, but also has other perspectives. Warning that I do not have a bunch of prewritten chapters and am publishing as I write. I started writing out of my love for the marauders and my need to see them be happy. Also just for the fun of it. I am also publishing on AO3, my @ is accio_moony_26
