Akihiko (Akira) is a normal girl who only wants to be by herself, after her parents died the only person she knows is Shizuka Hio, the pureblood vampire. Akira must deal with old friends that cause her inner turmoil, and even older foes that threaten Akira's safety and those around her. She must choose between life and death, not just for herself but for the people she holds most dear.
