Polaris gets in a car accident while driving home one night. Miraculously, she emerges unharmed, without a scratch or mark—besides one white scar, the shape of a quarter moons. Doctors inspect her, but without fruit of their search, she is sent home to her birth parents, seeing as her adoptive parents died in the car accident. But once she goes to college, Polaris undergoes some weird changes—she finds that her hearing sharpens, as well with her vision. She seems to be faster on the track than that of her classmates, and soon her roommate begins to suspect something’s up. Her scar seems to glow at night, and one day she wakes up with a weird spreading pitch black rash, almost like a tattoo. Skye, her roommate, knows exactly what is going on now. She shows Polaris that she has the same tattoo, spreading up her side. Darkness is overcoming them, branding them with the symbol of demons. They don’t have much time left, to find the Orb of Acamen, the only thing that can heal them before they transform into slaves of darkness.
