Melissa (also known as Mel or Missy) has a life that is a little unusual. First off, she doesn't have your typical white fence suburban family. Her parents are away all the time, and her best friend Ryan is also her neighbor. Between her older brothers and Ryan and HIS older brothers, Missy has certainly got enough protection and craziness to last her a while. However, when things take an unpredicted turn, her friendship is brought to a whole new level, and she is forced to deal with things she never believed she would have to. Through laughs, tears, mangos, and awkward hair-brush in front of the mirror singing, Missy learns that only one thing is permanent: change.
