Young Amanda has always had fond memories of her "Uncle Merlin", Marius Bradford. However, no one else in her family has ever known Marius the same way she has, so they have no idea of his "magic powers". However, when the girl with her younger brother and cousin come to visit Marius, they stumble upon a strange shoebox. Amanda is thrilled when Marius tells the youngsters that the box is in fact, magic. He begins to share the stories of the various memories locked within. But Marius has an ulterior motive behind his stories, and soon the children learn that adventures have danger, and that not all magic is good.
