Heartless

Regina stands over a bubbling cauldron, with the rest of our heroes standing anxiously at her side. The vault is not a large room; Charming, much to his dismay, has been squeezed into a corner with Hook, and Snow has stepped on Henry's foot more than once.

Emma stands by a shelf littered with bottles and viles of odious liquids and foul powders. She hands tube after tube of ingredients to Regina, who mutters the contents of each under her breath as she pours them sparingly into the tarnished cauldron.

Robin looks on, listening to her mumblings: "A sprinkle of one shots, a drop of imagines, a tablespoon of short stories, a heaping dose of general fan fiction, a light dusting of AU stories..." After several minutes of pouring and stirring, Regina steps back from her concoction.

"Well?" Emma asks impatiently, "Have you done it?"

Hook, from his rather tight position between the wall and Charming's elbow adds, "Aye, love, have you finished? I would much prefer to be out of this rather...claustrophobic place."

"Shut it, guyliner," Regina snaps, "The only way to find out if it worked is is to test it." She reaches into the cauldron, which is billowing white smoke, and pulls out a book.

"What is it, Mom?" Henry asks.

"What the hell is this?!" Regina turns the book over in her hands.

"It's titled "Heartless."" Belle says meekly, reading over Regina's shoulder.

"I can read, thank you very much," Regina angrily replies. "Still," she continues, "I wonder what it is."
