For normal teenage girls their biggest problem was trying to fit in but Jess wasn't a normal teenage girl. For instance she was being stalked and could do nothing about it or her little sister Liza would be killed. So when they tell her to go to the lighthouse to meet them she goes wanting to keep her sister safe. But she didn't think her crush would end up following her. Or that he would try and kill both guys but he did and Jess got stabbed in the leg falling and smashing her head on the ground and goes into a coma. At the hospital she wonders how she is going to live when she so desperately wanted to die. But as she watches families going through much worst she meets a little girl named Spring, bearing a great resembleness to Liza but with cancer she decides that no matter what happened Spring would make it out of this alive.
