How do you solve a murder when you cannot reveal you are an undercover detective? The development of time travel undermined most traditional religions in the Solar System by proving there is no such thing as fate. But it left a void that had to be filled. Today, many people venerate science and evolution, but some worship time itself. In the rings of Saturn, one of the Solar System's greatest sporting events is approaching, providing the perfect cover for the secretive temporal cults to hold their annual inter-faith retreat. Members from every sect will meet to socialise, discuss their ideas and beliefs, and display their latest inventions, which can manipulate time in ways that should not be possible. Time-travelling police detective Erik Midgard is also attending in disguise, to gather intelligence on the cults for the Chronological Operations Agency. It is a risky and complicated assignment, made harder because the laws of time appear to be suddenly - and inexplicably - changing, which could have dire consequences for Erik himself. The last thing he needs is another murder to solve. Undercover in a small hotel, in a jurisdiction he is not meant to be in, with a killer among the guests who may be the most intelligent and cunning adversary he has ever faced, Erik must solve the case, and the mystery of his own origins, before it is too late. One way or another, Erik's time is almost up. The final volume of the Erik Midgard Case Files.

I'm Nathen Skiroe (I'm not the main character or the narrator); no, this tale is not about me. I'm that side character no one cares about; I was that ordinary guy who loved being in his own skin. I had good friends and no trauma (I even have a girlfriend) until the evening of the day prior to the first day of my senior year, and the first day itself started looping. Sounds cliché, like an old fable, and it's already happened in the movies, right? ... Six of us got stuck in this manhole, one of us could regenerate, and the rest of us, including myself, would die if killed and bleed if scathed. Only 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘀 could regenerate. 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘀 was our hope, the leader, our friend, and the main character on the edge. Fin and Tris were our emotional support. My girlfriend Arnelia... Unfortunately, I got stuck, and fortunately, I'm with her. We were the six. And there wasn't a single problem. There were problems. One-the loop we got stuck in Two-Matt Wyljac's death Three-The deal I and Arnelia made with Kelynen's worst enemy... Four- Kelynen's obsession with the 'K' room But I would often wonder... Why Kelynen dealt with things alone... Nothing strange with him, but... You will never get to know some things until you force them out of his mouth. It was on one instance that I learned we had more than four problems. I would have expected the twist if I were watching a movie, but... I didn't because it was my real life, and even if somebody had warned me, I would have thought "No way that's gon' happen." But don't think you could see it coming. Psst I forgot... Welcome to Petra. Petra?... The school. Again: Don't believe everything Kelynen Yildras ever says to you... He is a good liar, I'm a better liar and I've had a good experience with that. Again and again: I'm a better liar than him.
