The Fervainen people had a bad experience with twins. The last time twins were born was 2000 years ago and they proved to be the  devil's spawn. A law was stipulated that should another pair be born the younger one is to be killed and the first born take over the power from his father. Girl first borns were unheard of because the transfer of the father's body would be incomplete in their bodies.
