Before One Direction and The X Factor, Zayn Malik was engaged. Yes, at a very young age I must add. But this wasn’t a normal engagement, it was an arranged marriage. Zayn’s father, being Pakistani wanted Zayn to have appropriate, sensible wife. Therefore Zayn’s Dad called his childhood best friend who lived on the other side of the world.

This is where I come in. Arziyan Gill, your typical Australian teenager trying to get into University of Manchester.

Zayn’s Dad, Yaser called my Dad for his son to marry me. Well I obviously said no but what can you do when you live in an Indian/Pakistani household. Soon enough I was engaged to Zayn, the wedding was to come after X Factor.

What I didn’t know was that I would be forgotten and have my heart trampled over by a hoard of migrating buffalo's and then have it put in front of a train going at over 200km per hour.

It’s hard watching someone you love propose to some other girl while you wait at home for him to come back.

We were almost married. If the marriage was sooner we would’ve been together. I guess everyone was right. Almost Is Never Enough.

Imaan never imagined that love could be this complicated. It wasn't supposed to be this way. Growing up, she had always been told that love would come when it was meant to, that it would be simple and pure-guided by faith, respect, and the traditions of her Pakistani roots. But now, sitting in her room late at night, watching the soft glow of her phone screen, she wondered if she was meant to just follow the path laid out for her, or if there was more to love than what she'd been taught. It had started when she met Rayan again after all those years. They had known each other since middle school, but it was only now, in high school, that something shifted. He wasn't just the guy she'd seen in passing anymore. He was someone who made her feel seen, heard, and respected in ways she hadn't even known she needed. But there was a problem. Her heart was still tied to the past-the scars of a relationship that had torn her apart. Aayan. She had loved him with all her heart, only to find out that he had been unfaithful. He had broken her trust, and with it, the possibility of ever believing in love again. Now, with Rayan, she faced a new kind of fear. Could she trust him? Could she let herself fall in love again? Or would her past repeat itself? As Imaan lay awake that night, the answer was clear. The fear of getting hurt was too great. But deep inside, something whispered: Maybe love is worth the risk. (some dialogue is in urdu/hindi & punjabi)

I promise there's more! I've put all my thought and skills to put before the wattpad audience the most misunderstood fact about muslim women in a marriage. The fact that it all ends with abuse and oppression on the women which leads to thinking that muslim women are being oppressed and enslaved in their religion. Afaaf Hameed never wanted a marriage because for all she knew, 'all men are the same', particularity Muslim men. They are all chauvinists. To her, romance, love, feeling butterflies in stomach was all fantasy in today's world and it only existed in the era of Prophets. But what happens when she has forced herself to marry Imran Ameen Khan for the sake of her mum. On the other hand, Imran is head over heels about being married to Afaaf. He has never met a woman more beautiful than her. He tries his best to let romance blossom between them. But little does he know that his beautiful wife has no feelings for him. What will the future of these two hold when their lives are tied together? Will they make it to 'Happily Ever After' or will their hearts split up? ***Not Edited***
