"My love story ended before it even began..."

Hikari likes Manaka, Manaka likes Hikari, Chisaki likes Hikari, and Kaname likes Chisaki. As if this love confusion couldn't get any worse, let's add in Aoi who is the fifth from the group, the odd one out, and the one obviously in love with the person she cannot have.

They've been childhood friends for as long as they could remember but Aoi knows she's barely even part of this so-called friendship. To make matters worse, the five friends are forced to enroll in Mihama Middle School on the surface with the closing of their own school in the sea.

Adjusting to their new environment should be easy but with the relationship between the people of the sea and land off to a rocky start, the five friends must learn to adapt in their new world while struggling to understand the feelings and bonds that form along the way...

A word she had longed to hear, yet feared the most. Would he accept it? Or would he push her away again, just like before? The door creaked open. Her heart pounded. Sharad's sharp gaze met hers. "What are you hiding?" Her breath hitched. She wasn't ready for this. Not yet.
