There were seven of us that found the aliens. We discovered that the aliens were desperate and dying. They wanted us to help. They promised us powers and strength. We said yes. Now, as we rise and grow, they are changing us. We no longer know reality from a lie. We are more powerful than all other humans on Earth. Yet that is what's threatening to destroy us. ***Just a few notes, this story is science fiction as well as teen fiction. I am not finished yet, but will be publishing more soon! Also, please comment! I'm not really sure about how this story is coming together, so it would be super helpful if I could get some opinions and suggestions for how to improve my writing. I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. This story still is a work in progress, it has holes and it is to be continued

Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise.
