Extract:

"Miss Hall, I was brought here under the authority of Thorne. We knew that the Leaders were planning this and have been doing so for a while. There are a group of us, including Thorne, from different Bases that have been trying to come up with a way to stop them and I've been sent to follow through with our only logical method." Granger stares me in the face.

"You need me. I'm the only one that has all of the information on the country's military movements and plans. Knowing the Leaders, you expect they are too cocky to think some little girl would turn on them." I don't say it like a question because I'm stating what I've figured out.

"We're going to smuggle you out of the country and across the northern border. Wilson thinks we're just here to hide you away because, if you're captured in an invasion, everything would be compromised. All we need to know is if you're in or out?" Marcus' question is punctuated with the click of Granger's gun. There are only two possible outcomes to this situation: commit treason or die.

Book Two: They encourage, not the realists and the brave, but the gullible and the fragile, those too weak to fight back. They massacre lower and middle-class citizens once every month to control the growing population through a method called Cleansing. They rid of all music except modern pop to eliminate diversity, keeping only one artist from each state in the music industry. They stop anyone from going in or out of the country and kick out all those not born within the now-armed borders. And that's just the beginning of what they call "The Great Reformation," the grand change of the United States government and all of its operations. All because the United Kingdom has turned against the nation and declared war, or so President Nathaniel Carter says. Carter, as the dictator, begins to tell citizens certain things, things that Ryan Tedder and his bandmates, Zach, Eddie, Brent, and Drew, don't actually buy. After all, physicist Niels Bohr once said, "The best weapon of a dictatorship is secrecy." Along with this chaos, Ryan is trying to deal with the stress of Ramona becoming distant due to her past reappearing, and the new rules and regulations making his career walk on a tightrope. The national anthem may say otherwise, but the United States is no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not with the new government. Ryan and the other guys are determined to dig through the lies and find the real reason why. © 2016 by Verona Rohellec. Second installment of the Blooming Passion trilogy. Complete. Mature language. Extreme violence. Sensitive topics. Highest Rank(s) - #1 in Totalitarianism (tag) (nice!), #1 in Ryan Tedder (tag) (yay!), #3 in OneRepublic (tag). Thanks to libellule_ for the AMAZING cover! 45 parts Complete Mature

Skye Jones knew the world had been screwed to hell years ago. What she didn't realise is that she would be expected to save it. After five years in an isolated facility run by the American government with other kids like her, Skye is released into the nightmare beyond the barbed wire walls to trial a safe route to Washington DC. It's the first breath of fresh, unfamiliar air which she wouldn't get beaten for, but that doesn't take away the danger. She's unprotected and isolated because of who she is, but she's one of the most dangerous things out there. With death waiting around the corner at every turn, Skye's group focuses on their main goal: the capital. Yet, this isn't as straightforward as they thought, and they begin wonder if they'll live to make it out the other end. [60'000 - 70'000 words]
