The planet was saved by a scientist who created a cure for Covid-19. All of a sudden, a new virus appears, turning everyone that has a healthy life into mutant animals. Those human-turned predators will have no memory of their human life and will now only live by nature's rules. Those who didn't get infected were either already sick, had a disease, or had a disorder. Those people were then experimented to find a cure but the human population decreased rapidly. My life is over, but it's time to start a new one. I'm dead, but somehow I'm more alive than I've ever been. I've always seen science as testing the limits of the natural order. That's what I love about it, we can make atoms that are too unstable to exist, alter genomes to have specific traits, and a lot of things that don't happen naturally. But I'm in hell now, so it's time to apply what I know and see what mysteries of the universe are here in hell. My name is Neil Sapienti, and I have my work cut out for me. This is my original story, inspired by many other things, but its still an original because the main character is my own creation.
The experiment.
They used my vulnerability against me. They used that weapon, to make me accept their stupid idea. And I of course, accepted it, I didn't even know what they were going to do. They tugged and poked and even shoved their disgusting finger in your wound, just to see you cry. To see you change. No pitty in their eyes. They just continue. They drag you around with metal chains, hit you and turn you into a experiment. But I had enough of the tugging, the clawing, the moaning, the crying and pleading for them to stop, but simply feeding them with our pain. They turned me into something, that neither do they know what I am. Their afraid of me, of my reflexes, my strength. I killed a lot of them. They say I have a cold heart, that I don't feel nothing. A teen girl, pitch black hair, black eyes, white skin. Her height is 5'8. People are scared of her, not just because of her strength but because of they way she kills. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. Hi. My name is Joules. Yes I know, odd name. But let me tell you how I got that name. Three years ago, when I was twelve, a group of my fathers friends stole me from home one night and took me to a lab. My father, being a scientist, loves to experiment on people. But not me. He promises he would never hurt me. But his friends didn't. As they snuck me into the lab, they hooked me up to wires and monitored my heart rate. However, a thunderstorm hit the building and shorted out the cables. But not before I was hit. My heart rate went up drastically and they pulled out the wires. I was so angry I lost my temper.
