The Apache Boy

Avery Haller is the quiet type of kid you'd never notice in a crowd. That is, until the right people notice him after his move to Danville in the summer of 1985. The first of these is Danny, who fancies himself a poet. The second is Dean, an aspiring photographer. Last is Jada, Dean's model and an actress. This ragtag group of social rejects alter Avery's entire persona and it seems as though nothing could go wrong. But that all changes one night, and in an instant, these newfound friendships are put to the test. In the face of tragedy, Avery begins a slow descent into depression that culminates in his attempted suicide. Told through a journal his therapist encourages him to keep, The Apache Boy details the highs and lows that come with youth and life itself.
