Emmie Kalin, the forgotten child of four was always overshadowed by her brothers even her twin who was supposed to have her back hasn't so much as glanced at her in years. at the age of 13 she becomes a freshmen in high school skipping two grades with her best friend yet she is still over shadowed. Until a faithful day when the black van came speeding down the corner. She has been kidnapped armed with her cell phone, brains and best friend at her side. Will she make it out alive? Not everything is as it seems.

It has been 14 years since the zombie apocalypse started and the world descended into chaos. There are few cities that people still live in. Many of these cities have zombies roaming the outer edges and are close to falling and becoming abandoned like the rest. There is only one city in the world that is safe and protected, the Safe Haven. Emmie is a girl who lives on the outskirts of one of these falling cities.
