Dahvie is dying.

Oh the doctors can lie about it all they want, but he isnt stupid after all. He's a dead man walking with just a few months, at best to live.

Jayy is just another man, in the sea of society.

Except he's not, not really, seeing as he only goes out at night and drinks a diet comprised entirely of blood but he's not exactly one to complain.

It's by sheer accident that Jayy winds up in the bizarre teen's hospital room, honest. He wasn't intending to track that delicious smelling blood. And he certainly was joking when he'd offered to save Dahvie from his inevitable death. No he wasn't returning because the shorter male's answer confused him. He was just turning up because he was bored. That's all. It had nothing to do with those beautiful innocent eyes and plump lips that always seemed to get the younger into trouble...

Dahvie is used to lying, and he accepts it but perhaps it makes him more susceptible to the truth. He knows that Jayy isn't telling the truth, to Dahvie or himself. He only has until the winter to prove that to Jayy, and maybe along the way, save Jayy's life before losing his own.
