Enemies to friends to lovers - Bucky Barnes fan fiction. Growing up under the control of General Dreykov and the Red Room was exactly what you'd imagine; unrelenting torture, brutal experimentation, and layers of brainwashing that left no part of you untouched. When Natasha and Yelena finally destroyed Dreykov and brought the program down, those of us who survived were sent to Wakanda, where we endured the same deprogramming that had freed the Winter Soldier. Piece by piece, they stripped away what the Red Room had carved into us. Once we were deemed fit for society, S.H.I.E.L.D scattered us across the globe, planting us in carefully chosen lives and coaching us on how to "blend in." For most, reintegration was possible. For me, it wasn't. No matter where I was sent, the past clung to me like a shadow I couldn't shake.

With nowhere else to go Sam lets Alaska stay with him until she decides what to do next. What Alaska doesn't know is that Sam also extends his hospitality to a certain Ex-assasin. When Alaska meets Bucky for the first time she is mesmerized. Not only by his looks but also by his kind and caring soul. Still battling the demons of his past, Bucky doesn't want anyone to get hurt anymore-especially not Alaska. But she has a way of wiggling herself through the cracks of the wall he has built around his heart and it is hard to stay away from her. This is a short little story I wrote this summer and its also the first story I have ever written...so please be nice to me lol. As the universe began to recover from The Blip, it was an entirely new kind of journey for James Barnes. He was looking to find himself and find out who he had become. There was a lot going on in his mind, but it also held a glimmer of hope that with the assistance of Wakandan technology his mind could finally at long last, be freed. He wanted so little, simply to live peacefully, but he found so much more than that when he encountered the local veterinarian.

*Rating this PG-13 for mentions of physical torture (canon), and heavy mental health topics such as PTSD, depression, s*icidal thoughts, etc. Read with discretion.* Saving my brain power for the actual content in this story, basically Steve Rogers (MCU) has a younger sister named Rose (I'm so sorry I know this name is really basic but it was really popular in the 20s when she was born) who fought in WWII with him and she and Bucky Barnes were engaged before he "died" and Steve and Rose were turned into ice cubes (derogatory). Rose and Steve are now in modern times (2016) having issues with their superpowered roommates (The Avengers) and trying to get their PTSD ridden third member of the trio (Bucky) to remember that he cares about them. I swear there's actually substance to this story I'm just so unserious please read it so I feel important
