The house on Larchwood Avenue today, is derelict in contrast to the better maintained homes in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The house looks ominous, sinister, and sorrowful, to any passer-by. But to these who have dwelled inside its evil walls, the house stands as a portentous reminder that something much darker dwells among the living.

I became aware of the Larchwood house by pure experience. I lived in the house as a child. As an adult, I rented the house from the inherited owner, my close friend. The stories herein are true. Much of the history is derived from the accounts of the family that owned the house for many generations. Other aspects regarding the first owners, came to me in dreams as a child and as a teenager; pieced together with established history.

The house itself is not a dwelling that I would call haunted so much as infected. There is an ominous tension in the atmosphere. One can feel it simply walking in the door. The infection seems benign at first. Little things go missing, odd and unexplainable things happen. So much so, that you begin to question your own reason and judgment. The infection slowly builds toward the cataclysmic destruction of self, stability, and even sanity.

Dive into the world of love and magic, any way you like to read. *** Sometimes love is the strongest magic of all *** Nineteen-year-old Rhia Greenbrook has lived in the sleepy town of Oakriver in a house with three generations of witches her entire life. Rhia draws her magic from the earth and likes to spend her time amongst plants and nature. Her practice is gentle, sacred, and-per her family's tradition-secret. New-to-town witch Valerie Morgan is looking for answers about her mother's disappearance from Oakriver seventeen years ago. Without her mother's guidance, Valerie has cultivated her fire magic on her own and she makes no effort to keep her powers hidden. Although Rhia is immediately annoyed by Valerie's blatant use of magic, she can't deny the instant magnetism between them. But amidst their magical connection, a dark presence looms over Oakriver. Unsettling visions from Rhia's grandmother and dangerous sleepwalking episodes throw into question Valerie's past and what role her presence plays in the strange happenings. And as Valerie gets tangled up further into the darkness, it's up to Rhia to tap into the full potential of her power in order to save the town she loves and the girl she's fallen for.
