Tired of feeling hurt and not knowing how to cope with her losses, Melissa creates imaginary friends to escape her own loneliness and forget the world around her. Meanwhile, Alexander doesn't seem to care about anything besides himself. Mel fears that someone might find out her secret, and living in the world of isolation created for and by herself gets harder every day, but Alex seems to enjoy the solitude around him without any trouble. Besides his biggest dream, nothing else seems to matter. Apparently, the only thing they share in common is that no one meant to get to know each other, or to get closer to each other. Helping someone else might be easier than helping yourself, but this is only the beginning of the change in their lives.

Koko has always been alone, but never lonely-at least, that's what she tells herself. She drifts through life like a spectator, untouched and unbothered, her sharp tongue and sharper mind keeping everyone at arm's length. She moves with purpose, but only she knows where she's going. Nova, as everyone calls him-is the same, but different. Distant in a way that's not intentional, lost in a world only he seems to understand. He doesn't care for attachments, doesn't care for much at all. Yet, for some reason, he sees Koko. Two lives running parallel, two solitudes that should never intersect-until they do. A quiet glance, an unspoken understanding, a pull neither of them wants to acknowledge. And Koko, always one step ahead, has a plan. Because love isn't something she believes in, but control? Now, that's a different story. "There's something about you that now I can't remember It's the same damn thing that made my heart surrender And I miss you on a train, I miss you in the morning I never know what to think about I think about you" ~~~~~~"About You" - The 1975
