The fact that the Black is also a handsome man does not help Claire's case at all. Raven has nothing to do with his family and yet is hostile to Claire upon finding out she's a mage. He worked as a detective to make sure everyone had equal justice but when he got his new partner Claire his world is thrown upside down. Not only is she a mage whom he silently despises but she's also the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. As they work together and find a rocky truce between themselves they travel the city solving crimes with a magical association. Raven accepts Claire without cause while Claire lays her life down for the man who stole her heart. As they fall for one another a dark figure lerks in the shadows, plotting something sinister for our mage Claire. Could this dark figure perhaps have something to do with Claire's unclear past? Can Raven, a Black, somehow save this woman before she's taken from him forever?

Raven is both good witch and wicked witch and her path is balancing both sides of it what will happen when she starts her Hogwarts years and the past she doesn't know comes crashing to the present. Will she forgo the balance and give into the darkness? Or will she start a new path and be the thing her mother died protecting her to be? Who knows what will become of her except the whole Wizardry World will be watching as well.
