April O'Neil: So, you wrote a book... Me: A long-ass book. April: A long-ass book! How did it come about? Me: Well, actually, I was just looking for a xreader story with an adult Donnie, where the female character is strong and independent, doesn't need to be rescued all the time, and isn't a giggling schoolgirl. April: And you didn't find anything? Me: Don't get me wrong, April! There are so incredibly great fanfics and xreader stories out there, and I ate them all up! But I needed a new kick and I wanted something epic, dramatic that involved the mystical powers of the turtles and their further developments. April: And then you started writing yourself? Me: The story came about on its own. In my head. And at some point I just had to write it down, otherwise I would have exploded. With the writing, it didn't become a typical xreader story with the "y/n" in it, because that had irritated me. I know that the "y/n" comes out of an inclusive thought, and I think that's good and right. Unfortunately it blocked me, the heroine in my story was too complex and too concrete, and so I gave it up, even if it was no longer a real xreader story. April: And now you're writing a second book? Me: Exactly. The sequel. I'm on it. April: Do you want to give us a little teaser? Me: Well, there's still Leo and his complicated relationship with my heroine. And in the sequel, he finds out that he actually likes rabbits, too. April: Yeeeah? Me: No, no - I don't want to give too much away! April: Am I also on board again? I exited through the side entrance of the building and stood by the manhole cover, pulling it up and out of the way. I climbed down the ladder and slid the cover back over me, shrouding myself in pitch darkness. When I got to the ground, water splashed by my feet and I turned my phone flashlight on. Ice covered most of the walls and floor, except for the small puddle I stepped in. I looked around and started walking in the right direction. It was colder in the sewers this time of year and I almost slipped on ice a few times. When I saw familiar pipes and came to what looked like a concrete wall, a small smile formed on my lips. I stood in front of it for a moment, staring at it. "Come on, Angel." I muttered to myself. It's only been two years. I doubt much has changed. I took a deep breath in and reached up to pull the pipe above the closed door. I'm a lot taller now, so I didn't have to get on my tip toes like back then. The door parted open and I walked in slowly, hearing a thud behind me when it shut closed. It was quiet in the lair as I walked around, taking it all in. Most of it looked the same, while some parts looked new. I took my beanie, scarf, and jacket off, setting them on the couch nearby. "Hello?" - **** quick content and trigger warning possibility. Regarding the fanfics that revolve around the tmnt fandom and series versions, I personally have read many that involve hard language (cursing) and depictions of violent scenes bc it's whats in the storylines of all versions of tmnt across the board and through the decades. As stated in the information for the previous book for this mini series, if anything is offensive in any such way or should be corrected, feel free to reach out and comment or PM me regarding it and I'll gladly hear you out in order to learn from the mistake I made for future reference.
