Fourteen year old Jessica "Jinx" Carter thought that middle school would be the hardest school year of her life. But to her surprise, high school is much, much worse. While dealing with bullies, her over-protective dad and an abundance of school work, Jinx has been trying as best she could to fit in at school. But one day, Jinx gets invited to eat lunch with a group of popular kids dubbed "The Lost Boys" due to their carefree, rebellious behavior. Jinx soon finally becomes one of the popular kids at school, but all of that changes when her mother suddenly appears after almost thirteen years, trying to get custody of Jinx. This story follows Jinx's life from freshman year to her senior year of high school.
