This book is about a world split between a utopia and a dystopia, a direct democracy vs. anarchy. The dystopian side of the world is in ruins, costant riots and fights take place here. To make matters worse, the paranormal seems to have seized this opportuinty, and have started to appear more and more all over the dystopian waste land, making it more dangerous then before. Reina Vyse is a 13 year old whose family is gone, they died in one of the many riots that happen in her city of Denver, a once brilliant place, now a degraded, ruined, goulish city. She is desperatly trying to survive and get to the promsied land, an almost imposible mission.

I'd say enjoy this version while it's still posted... but honestly, it's rather rocky as I sort of jumped into the book without a plan, clear plot, or anything. When you're marked you have two choices; fight or die. Nance lives in the past, literally. Her city is a recreation of early twenty-first century society. To the outside world they're experiments, just rats running around a maze. In an impoverished future world, the city seems to be their only chance of finding where they went wrong, or so they say. Nance doesn't know the real purpose of her home, and she doesn't care. All she sees are the one hundred teenagers, just like her, who are killed every year in the barbaric ritual known as the marking. They tattoo your face and pit you against your peers, against the city. Nance doesn't know why, but it doesn't matter, because she's sixteen and it's her turn to be marked. **So I decided to replace the original story with the rewrite because they are pretty much exactly the same. Welcome to the future, written in the past. A mutant plague has rendered part of the population as zombie-like humanoids. They have a conscious mind though, but their craving for brains is a bit of an antisocial issue. Being mostly made up of impoverished individuals, it is not surprised that they got cured cheaply and lastly, despite being the main test subjects. Lochlyn is their representative. She just wanted an education beyond elementary school. A little luckier stricken part of the infected population evolved into reverents. Reverants have a feudal system over the zombies to "keep them in order". The luck may have had to do with them being upper-class when being treated. Basilica is their representative. At eighteen, she wanted body modifications, a job, and etc... as a rite of passage entering adulthood. At least that's what she was thinking. The more she was told no, the more she wondered what she could do. There are still uninfected humans left in the U.S.A. Most of them are middle-class. Katrina is their representative. She gained a family member, but lost two. She aches to find out why she can never return home again. The three eighteen-year-old females, along with their beaus, journey for truth, equality, justice, restoration, love, and freedom lead them to the same end: the capital. We're Still Alive(Book1)BEING REWRITTEN
This book follows four teenagers from four different parts of the U.S. when their lives are dramatically changed one day. When zombies become real and more than just horror movies and scary books, they're forced to fight to stay alive. What they don't know is how similar their struggles are, along with their goal: get to the supposed safe haven alive. (The book is under editing right now, and I'll be changing the location of the safe haven from Columbus to Cincinnati. I didn't really think it through when I first wrote this but I think that Cincinnati would make a little more sense. Sorry for any confusion!) *************** BEING REWRITTEN I started writing this at 14, and it started out as something I made just for fun. The story was mostly imporvised, and I don't like how it's turned out. I've had a lot of new and hopefully more interesting ideas, and there's so much that I decided to rewrite the whole thing completely. The story will be very different but the characters will be the same for the most part. It'll have the same style of writing with the different points of view, but separated between books instead of chapters, and I already have a storyline laid for the first 2 or 3.
