      But only four will be chosen to become the Guardians, who will rise when the need to protect the Nine Realms becomes imperative. 
      
      And in the middle of all this stands Alexandra.
      
      What would you do if your seventeenth birthday ends up with your burning down the whole school? You would run away, perhaps to another world, in a totally different dimension. No? Well that's exactly what Alexandra did.
      
      Scared of doing something sinister, Alex follows her mother's advice and runs away from her home and end up in a completely different world. A world filled with witches, elves and alchemists. Coming into terms with her now very different life she realizes she belongs here. But then things start to take a turn.
      When people around her start to become things and achieve great status, Alex feels she is also bound to become one of them. Or is she?
      
      With luck, power and prophecies pointing against her, Alex has to prove that she is not the reason why her friends were chosen. Or will she in the struggle forget herself and become the one reason they were chosen?
