Katie Montgomery was taken from her home when she was 17 years old. After no one had seen her in two years, her friends and family finally accepted that she was gone. All except one.

Dylan, her best friend, never gave up hope that she was still alive. He always wished she would come back. Every weekend and every summer, Dylan would hike through the woods looking for any sign of his best friend. People told him to give up hope, but hope was he had left.

When Katie went missing, the only thing they could find was leather bracelet engraved to say, "La Vie En Rose" Dylan had given her for her birthday. That bracelet was all he had left of the girl he loved.

Two years later, a girl bursts through the door of the sheriff's station.

Could it be Katie?

Could Dylan finally have the love of his life back?

Will she even remember him?

"He seemed like a puzzle to me, and I really liked solving puzzles. But somehow, I don't think that I would ever be able to solve this one." Amelia Heart, with her large smile and her infectious laugh, is what most people would think has the perfect life. They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. She was everything you wanted to be, and yet nobody had gotten close enough to her to understand her life in this small town at all. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. Things start happening in Amelia's life that simply don't make sense, even to her. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. Time begins counting down, fast. Did she want to involve her friends? Could the new people in her life be trusted? She wouldn't have long to make a decision. Not before her world comes blazing down, the final battle on the horizon. Tick, tock, Amelia. You don't want to be late to the party when you're the guest of honour. COMPLETED 06/11/20
