Set in late Victorian London

Adeline Moore, a kind, introspective and intelligent young woman. She is the wife of Thomas Moore, and together the pair live, what appears to be, a quiet, comfortable life; that is until Thomas is found dead, single gunshot wound to the temple. The burden of searching for the truth about Thomas' murder falls upon Adeline's shoulders after local law enforcement prove to be unavailing. She hires an elusive private investigator, an intimidating figure with a shrouded past to find the answers she so desperately seeks. In the process, however, Adeline is forced to reconcile that nothing about her old life was at all what it seemed.

As the investigation makes headway, Adeline is thrust into the midst of something mysterious and otherworldly. She is stalked in her dreams by a man with no face, hungry for her and bold enough to take her as his own, but who, or what is this animalistic apparition? Does it exist outside of her dreams? Waking visions begin to haunt Adeline once more with an ominous warning she cannot decipher until it is already too late.

In Adeline's ruthless search for the truth, she will unwittingly uncover far more than she bargained for.
