This story takes place in Romania, the birthplace of vampires, where there is currently a vampiric monarchy. Antonios Dracul is the son of the Vampire King, making him the prince of the kingdom and the heir to his father's throne. In this place, the supernatural are open about themselves, and the humans are afraid, so they worship the King as well.
Upon nearing 1600 years of age, Antonios's twin sister and himself must go through a ceremony where they taste human blood for the first time and finally become full-blooded, rather than fledglings as they have been for their entire lives.
The humans the twins are presented with to drink from and turn into their Thralls happen to include a werewolf with weak blood who could not be detected by the other vampires. When the lycans find out about their brother being killed, they prepare to wage war on the vampires, and everyone must take sides. However, Antonios finds that the mental link that had been created between him and the human he'd fed off of during the coming-of-age ceremony was affecting him. He sees what is wrong with his kingdom, and is willing to fight against his own kind. Which side is really the wrong side?

(I wrote this goddamn years ago, it's horrible and probably one of my biggest regrets in life :) Just a warning that this is extremely bad, and I was very lazy when writing it. If something doesn't make sense, I know, you don't have to comment about it, my writing skills have greatly improved since I wrote this and it does not deserve the amount of reads it gets. I don't recommend reading this, but if you want to go for it I guess. Seriously this isn't like an insecure thing, Lafayette gets raped and Philip dates Maria, it's not a good story. I kept venting in the authors notes. People keep commenting about weird things they find and trust me, I k n o w) 17 year old (or around 300 year old but his body stayed 17) John Laurens has finally found the chance to come out of hiding. His adoptive father has enrolled him in a near by high school and luckily found an apartment of 3 boys that had space for John and were willing to take him in. John had been to school in the past but had to leave after being turned, his father managed to forge paper work saying what school he was at before so that he could go and graduate, in order to help him live a pretty normal life. The young Vampire was expecting challenges, but he never expected to fall in love. A/N: I really hope I can keep this one up, I'm really excited to do it. Like normal no smut, but rape will be talked about. Alcohol, homophobia and disownment are also topics.Complete
